Inspired by the 1950s elegance of the Hepburn film Sabrina, our bride dreamt of an all-white affair with the feel of an ethereal indoor garden at San Francisco’s Legion of Honor. Guests were greeted at the entrance of the museum by fifty waiters passing vintage silver trays of champagne, wine and appetizers. Drinks in hand, they enjoyed the truly spectacular sight before them – a clear tent raised over the museum’s Louvre-replica pyramid, which was framed by one hundred strands of twinkle lights.
Adding to the sense of dining within an enchanted garden, we included forty-eight trees featuring lush greenery and soft white blossoms that were entwined with twinkle lights. To balance the all-white canvas, we complimented the classic look with vintage Christofle and Tiffany & Co. silver flatware. Our romantic tablescapes were filled with feminine flowers such as peonies, hydrangeas, sweet peas, ranunculus, and lily-of-the-valley.
We designed a custom lattice backdrop for the couple’s band by bringing our own contemporary twist to the one used by the band in Sabrina. We added a sharp curve to an otherwise linear piece, twinkle lights and greenery, ensuring there was enough visual interest for the modern eye.
Our custom bars were designed with a nod to old world flair reflecting that same 1950s stage design. The theme of the curve was carried through to the lounge furniture in the museum’s Rodin Galleries to ensure the entire look of the evening was cohesive, elegant, and just what the bride envisioned.
