Grand Old World New Years Eve
The Bently Reserve, San Francisco, California

Francesca is a fifth-generation San Franciscan, and she and Christopher celebrated their New Year’s Eve wedding in grand style. With the Bently Reserve as their venue, we designed every element with a certain level of je ne sais quoi evoking the magic of another era with a glamorous palette of gold, white and black. The space was truly spectacular, featuring a custom gold and white lacquered dance floor surrounded by bronze trees with branches of soft white magnolia blossoms and gold leaves. Inspired by vintage draped bandstands, we designed a custom sequined, fan-like image for the stage backdrop, which was replicated in an ice carving for the oyster bar. The same sequin fabric was pintucked into small fan-shaped inserts to decorate the bars. A thumbprint monogram was made into a stamp used for the wedding stationery, and appeared on the music stands used by the ten-piece orchestra. The custom drapes complimented the exact shade of gold used in the letterpress invitations, and signs were cut from wood, polished to a shine and then handpainted the perfect color.
A New Year’s Eve wedding wouldn’t be the same without a proper countdown. We had gold, glitter hats made with working timepieces that ticked down to midnight, and customized laser cut masks decorated in Swarovski crystals. Poppers featuring custom illustrated wrappers were filled with miniature ostrich feathers and confetti with couples’ names. As everyone gathered excitedly to ring in the new year, they were showered with a confetti cannon and a double balloon drop with some balloons over four feet in diameter! This incredible wedding was truly a night to remember.
