Spooky Skulls and Butterfly Halloween

Children’s parties are one of our favorite events to produce, and this Halloween get-together was a wonderful opportunity to blend unique design details with traditional holiday fun. The party took place during the pandemic, so we came up with several ideas for keeping the kids safe while celebrating. Every family decorated a large trifold board and curated a special bag of candy for each child. When a trick-or-treater knocked on the front of the board, a parent popped up and handed them their bag of treats!
When they weren’t trick-or-treating, the partygoers enjoyed a “melt the brain” sensory table, where they melted purple cranium-shaped ice cubes with hot water to reveal spider rings that were hidden inside. A fog machine, black butterflies, and magic potion bottles in a faux tunnel leading to the back of the house kept things just a little bit spooky, while crystal and pearl-encrusted skulls glittered from every corner. At the end of the afternoon, every child took home a custom-designed purple ghost cookie, carefully packaged up with matching purple candies.
